Revolutionising oncological studies with decentralised approaches

Cancer trials are among the hardest to decentralise, and among the most valuable to try. What is safely remote, what stays at the site, and how to design the interface.

Oncology trials sit at the difficult end of the decentralisation spectrum: infusions, imaging and biopsies must stay at qualified sites, but symptom capture, quality-of-life measurement, medication adherence and safety follow-up can move home. Designing the interface well, what stays clinic-based, what runs on ECS® in the patient's daily life, and how the two streams reconcile, is the craft. Done well, decentralised elements broaden geographic reach, cut participant burden and produce a richer, longitudinal safety and PRO dataset than a site-only schedule would ever collect.
